One year ago Manchester United hoped that David Moyes could continue Sir Alex Ferguson's success, but he failed. Today it's different. They hope, and have confidence, that new boss Louis Van Gaal can, has, and will continue to improve their squad. After beating LA Galaxy, AS Roma and inter Milan, Van Gaal's men, thanks to Ashley Young, defeated UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid, despite Gareth Bale's best efforts. People are now wondering, could they go on win the 2014/15 Premier League Title?
One by one United are changing people's opinions, however, last night they were able to prove themselves in front of a record crowd for a soccer game in USA. Around 109,000 people were in the Michigan stadium to see the two giants face one another. United, with two goals from Young, beat Madrid 3-1, despite a stunning goal from former Tottenham hero, Bale.
United have now booked themselves in the International Champions Cup final, where they will take on long-time English rivals Liverpool. United have come a long way in a short time, but these results have only added clarity to just how bad Motes was, and just how good Van Gaal seems to be. The game against Liverpool will be a 'friendly' game, yet both will play it at the best of their ability, hoping to get one over on each other, and setting a marker down for their upcoming EPL campaign.
Could United win the Premier League title? They're doing their best to prove they have a chance, that's for sure.
