To celebrate the rabbit Ronin's 30th anniversary, Dark Horse Comics proudly releases the latest chapter in the Usagi Yojimbo series. Writer/artist Stan Sakai returns to his marvelous samurai rabbit saga with an all-new exciting six-issue miniseries, starting with Usagi Yojimbo: Senso #1.
In his first introduction, we saw Usagi protecting a small village from a violent band of assassins. The sword-fighter for hire suddenly found himself thrown into a deadly duel for blood money. Sakai then continued to telling more adventures starring Usagi and thankfully, the comic book creator hasn't stopped.
Set after twenty years, the trained warrior has been fighting as a general for Lord Noriyuki. As the war escalates against the treacherous Lord Hikiji, all of a sudden, a flying metal rocket crashes onto Earth. The two sides stop and lower their weapons to investigate their flying saucer.
Something is inside the rocket that will bring chills down Usagi's spine. Earlier, we teased that fan-favorite characters might die in this miniseries. Even if he does make it out alive, Usagi will soon learn there is no battle you can walk away unscathed from.
This is going to be an epic samurai tale with a clever sci-fi twist. Reader shouldn't forget that Dark Horse will also be re-releasing the previous Usagi Yojimbo volumes into an omnibus editions. Definitely recommended for newcomers and longtime fans.
Usagi Yojimbo: Senso #1 is expected to hit stores everywhere on August 6. Readers are you excited to see the rabbit samurai in action?
