Tonight Manchester United will go toe-to-toe with arch enemy Liverpool in a 'friendly' game. The pair are the biggest of rivals, so it's hard to see them playing in a calm manner. The pair will be hoping to lift the International Champions Cup trophy, after making their way through tough groups. United boss Louis Van Gaal had hinted he'd sell and buy players for the upcoming EPL season after this match, and now it's here the Premier League transfer gossip is in full swing. Several world class transfers are in the works, and they might just splash the cash on the likes of Edinson Cavani, Mats Hummels, Angel Di Maria and Arturo Vidal.
United made their way through a group containing AS Roma, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, and they did not taste defeat, and they wouldn't want to do that against Liverpool. The Red Devils have many transfers they'd like to make, but it'd been reported Van Gaal was waiting until this week to start his serious business. The club have chased players such as Cavani, Hummels, Di Maria and Vidal, and strangely none of these options have been ruled out, meaning some, or all, of them could be concluded in the coming days.
Van Gaal has already made a ton of changes to the style of play, but now he's expected to sell his unwanted players and look to bring in the extra quality his side have lacked during the past few seasons. Would winning the ICC final be a boost, or is still merely an unimportant friendly match? United lost the habit of winning, however, Van Gaal seems to of re-established it once again.
Can United win the ICC final, and can they complete these transfers?
