Robert Pattinson: 'There is One Thing I've Never Understood. Why People Cheat.'

Months ago in an interview with the Italian Vanity Affair magazine, Robert Pattinson shared about his view on infidelity.  Now he has become a victim.

The news just came out that Pattinson's girlfriend Kristen Stewart had an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

The actress released an official apology to People magazine, 'I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry.'

Immediately afterwards, Sanders also released a statement that read, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.  My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Sanders is a married man with two children.  His wife, Liberty Ross, also starred in Sanders' movie as a young Stewart's mother.  Ross had seemingly known about the affair before it was publicized today.  She had tweeted a few mysterious tweets including a quote by Marilyn Monroe ''Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together" and ended with "Wow" before deleting her Twitter account.

Now that Stewart and Sanders has apologized, how are their lovers Pattinson and Ross faring?

Pattinson said in his Vanity Affair interview, "'There is one thing I've never understood: Why people cheat. My parents met when my mom was 17 and my father 25, they are still together, and seem very happy"

"I grew up believing that you can be together all of your life."
