With Sharknado 2 officially a hit for the Syfy Channel, having managed to hit 18 million viewers, the third installment has officially been announced. As a teaser trailer for Sharknado 3 has just been released, casting rumors have already been set, especially with the anticipation for Sharknado stars, Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, to return.
In Sharknado 2: The Second One, the Big Apple was hit by a series of tornadoes swirling with sharks inside them. Fin (Ziering) has to find his estranged best friend and sister as New York's landmarks are besieged by ocean predators. In the opening sequence, April (Reid) loses her hand as the sharks attack her airplane.
What could possibly happen in the potential third film? In an interview with Spinoff Online, Ziering suggests a possible title for upcoming film, "Sharks in the Hood. Sharkpocalypse Now." The former Chippendales dancer continues, "I don't know what to expect in the third installment. I'd like to see it taken to foreign shores. It's a movie that's got global appeal."
The New York Daily News reports that Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) actor is interested in guest-starring in a cameo. Ziering tells the paper that Radcliffe "loved the film and said he would do it if they found an amazing way for him to die."
As reported here, Reid has a perfume, with the a shark theme, coming out. Since the American Pie actress participated with Twitter fans during the sequel's premiere, we can safely assure she will reprise her role.
If you watch the video closely, we are expecting Sharknado 3 to be released sometime in 2015. Until then, we will have to wait for more announcements to take place.
