WWE taped the results of the Aug. 8, 2014 edition of Friday Night Smackdown on Tuesday night in Laredo, Texas. For some reason, results trickled in more slowly than usual this week, but here's what we know goes down during the show.
The episode opens with Dean Ambrose, who comes out to cut a promo about his match with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Ambrose gets to pick the stipulation for their match thanks to his winning the Beat the Clock Challenge on Monday Night Raw earlier in the week.
Rollins comes out to cut him off, and Ambrose announces he has chosen a Lumberjack Match. Presumably, this is to prevent from Rollins from escaping from Ambrose's clutches, but we'll find out more behind the rationale as we get closer to SummerSlam. Anyway, Rollins responds by telling Ambrose he has a match tonight against Randy Orton.
Sin Cara defeats Damien Sandow, whom we can only assume was in some sort of costume.
Seth Rollins defeats Dolph Ziggler.
Paige defeats Natalya.
Rybaxel defeats Stardust and Goldust.
Chris Jericho cuts a promo about Bray Wyatt and their match at SummerSlam.
Ambrose vs. Orton ends in a no contest when Rollins runs in to attack Ambrose. The show ends with a brawl as Rollins tries to soften up his opponent before the pay-per-view.
What do you think of these results? Are you surprised by the Lumberjack Match stipulation? Do you think WWE will add another twist to the match? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
