It seems like just yesterday LeBron James and Delonte West were enjoying a brilliant partnership and friendship, as they (mainly thanks to James) dominated the entire NBA. However, that all went downhill rapidly. Rumours surfaced suggesting West and James' mother Gloria James, had an ongoing relationship of sorts. Soon after James bolted to join the Miami Heat, and many mocked the trio, which is something James could never move on from, and it seems West has had the same problem. Now, with James once again a Cleveland Cavaliers star, fans are bringing this story up, and comparing the roster they once shared, with James' new bunch of teammates.
James enjoyed his time in Cleveland, but was never able to win an NBA championship there, and with better support, he won two in Miami. However, now he has a mixture of young and old stars to help him this time around, and many are already saying the current roster is far better than the struggling one James dominated the NBA with in 2010. James is now preparing for the upcoming 2014/15 NBA season, whilst West is still trying to move on from his past.
The retired NBA star has revealed that he refused to name his son after him, knowing these rumours would forever haunt him, too. West goes on to explain he would of called him Delonte, but couldn't tarnish his name, too. West is now known for his troubled past, and the James rumours, more than he's known for his basketball ability, so it's understandable he wouldn't want to put his son through that.
Was this a smart move by Delonte, and can James win an NBA championship with his new Cavaliers teammates?
