Louis Van Gaal has had the perfect pre-season ahead of the 2014/15 Premier League season. The EPL season starts in a matter of days, and despite bringing in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, Van Gaal is desperate to add world class quality to his Manchester United team. The club are still missing legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson and they're still reeling from the failed David Moyes project. Van Gaal is chasing Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria and Juventus' Arturo Vidal. They are confident of signing both stars, but Louis must do his best to ensure both deals are completed, and preferably before the start of the season.
Di Maria was close to joining PSG, but they've baulked at the huge $80 million transfer fee. United recently revealed that they could afford any player in the world, and to prove this they instantly entered the race, bidding for Di Maria. The status of the bid is unknown, but it's believed they have a legitimate chance to sign the Argentina international. Last season their midfield lacked goals and creativity, and their team lacked pace throughout. A signing of this magnitude would eradicate that, and ensure they prove they're coming for their throne.
Although Di Maria would add life to their attack, they're in need of a middle-man who can do it all, and anyone that watches football, knows that Vidal is just that. The Juventus and Chile star is known for being one of the best box-to-box midfield players, and his energy, strength and presence would be a huge boost to the Old Trafford club.
Van Gaal will look to make four or five signings, but he 100% must make these signings if he wants to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
