They always say that Hollywood deaths come in three. Ed Nelson of Peyton Place fame has just passed away, over the weekend, before the deaths of fellow actors Lauren Bacall and Robin Williams.
The star passed away over the weekend in Greenboro, North Carolina at the age of 85.
Nelson, who was primarily known for his work on the TV soap opera series, Peyton Place in the 60's, has over 200 works to his name, including, Rawhide, Gunshmoke, and The Fugitive. He most recently appeared in the 2003 drama Runaway Jury, where he had a small role starring alongside Gene Hackman, and Rachel Weisz.
The former Navy radioman dropped out of Tulane University to pursue his acting career and moved to New York City. He got his start in the mid-1950's where he appeared in low-budget films before getting his breakout in Peyton Place, and the TV westerns of the time.
Accoridng the The New York Times, Ed was living in North Caroline in hospice care before his death. He is survived by his wife Patricia, who Nelson was married to for 63 years. Together they have six children, Cynthia, Beth, Mary, Ann, Gregory, and Christopher.
The untimely deaths of these three so close together, has caused severe mourning in Hollywood and around the globe.
Bacall, who was one of the greats, starred in movies such as How to Marry a Millionaire, and Key Large, before passing away on Tuesday following a massive stroke.
Williams died of an apparent suicide earlier this week in his California home.
