In his attempt to keep the java flowing after ending season four of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, veteran funnyman Jerry Seinfeld has been releasing "Single Shots" –– tiny clips of various episodes which discuss one topic. In this newest installment, the comic and his co-workers chat about marriage.
Featuring the likes of Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, Don Rickles, Jay Leno and Robert Klein, this single shot makes me realize that even famous people have stereotypical marriages. It also makes me see that perhaps lying is a bigger part of it then I initially thought. Of course, maybe I'm alone in taking advice from stand ups. Regardless, watch the newest video here.
The new single shot surely does have it all: from Leno discussing his friends and their bumbling attempts at marriage to Klein chatting a bit about the behind-the-scenes of "Opera Pimp" –– one of his legendary pieces of material, which was apparently used in his divorce. Maybe he was kidding?
The video ends in an strangely loving way, with a flashback to a discussion Seinfeld and Silverman were having about marriage over donuts (which was the very first single shot).
"You don't do what's right," says Seinfeld. "You do what makes the other person feel good."
The comic then chimes in, claiming that if you're to enter the sanctity of marriage, it's important you be your spouse's cheerleader. Quite a nice sentiment, no?
While the Seinfeld star agrees, he adds, "Yes! And the first step to that is lying."
This is the fourth single shot to appear on the comedian's site following "Gay Stuff," "Donuts" and "Comedians Love Eating."
