In season six's shocking conclusion, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) found himself holding his dead wife in his arms. In the upcoming seventh season of FX's Sons of Anarchy, before Jax can go on his warpath and seek revenge, he will have an unexpected visitor, Marilyn Manson, in prison.
As reported here, the Antichrist Superstar will be making an appearance on the motorcycle drama. In an interview with Collider, Sons of Anarchy executive producer/director Paris Barclay talks about how the guest star plays a pivotal role in the final episodes.
Barclay discusses how the Beautiful People rock star fits into the story arc, "For me, Manson's character is really a lot like the role that Otto served. So much of what these guys do pivots on what happens inside because that's where most of the shot-callers are. To stay real, I really needed to find that character inside, and that's the character that Manson plays."
The musician trades in his goth look for an orange prison suit in the seventh season premiere. In their first episode together, Teller (Hunnam) will meet with white supremacist Ron Tully (Manson) inside lockup. Though the musician-turned-actor appears briefly in his first episode, the two rebels will eventually form an alliance behind bars.
The In Treatment executive producer also reveals how long the musician's guest role will be, "I think he's in three or four episodes, and there are those scenes where we have these two shot-callers sitting down. They're kingmakers scenes, and they're a lot of fun to play."
