Chelsea football club are back. Boss Jose Mourinho took a year of failure during his second spell at Chelsea, but it was for the better. This summer he recalled Thibaut Courtois, and dropped veteran Petr Cech for him. He signed Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, and brought legend Didier Drogba back to play with Eden Hazard and Oscar. Their squad sounds frightening, doesn't it? Chelsea's boss doesn't take losing too lightly, and it appears he's changed everything, as their 3-1 win over Burnley proved. Now the EPL contender have the 2014/15 Premier League title and the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League trophy in their sight, but can they win them both?
Jose brought Courtois back as he is one of the world's best keepers, and he gives them something fresh that Cech no longer offered. By signing Fabregas and Costa he has brought in some much-needed Spanish flair, and two of the world's best players, that have most certainly filled and fixed their weaknesses. Now in Costa they have a proven goalscorer, and as proven with his debut goal, Chelsea will no longer lack firepower like they have in previous seasons.
Now Chelsea also have veteran Drogba as back-up. By surrounding all of this quality around the already settled squad, including Hazard and Oscar, Chelsea are a top contender to land both the domestic and European title. Chelsea can defend, control the ball and score for fun, so who in their right mind would bet against them?
Right now there's a long, hard season ahead, but everybody is watching Chelsea, and it seems everyone agrees they are the team to beat in the 2014/15 season.
