Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teased several months ago that he would have a part in a DC Comics movie, and now the actor has confirmed his role in a Shazam movie.
The actor spoke to La Nacion, and Comic Book Movie roughly translated his words. The site asked if he would play Shazam or Black Adam in the movie, and Johnson did not give a definitive answer. He offered the movie is "the story of Shazam" but "cannot say now" if his role is the red and yellow or black and yellow character. He also said he and the studio have been developing the project for some time. He told The Associated Press that he is "putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role."
Johnson then revealed an official announcement about the movie would come soon and said he has always wanted to play Green Lantern and Black Adam. The site claims this is the first time the actor has officially confirmed his involvement with Shazam, but Johnson did not say if he would appear in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016.
However, Johnson may have teased a role in Justice League, or at least a connection to that universe. The actor pointed out the expansion of the world to include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. He said he is excited about this and wants to respect DC Comics' mythology and "create something very cool."
What do you think? Will Johnson be Shazam or Black Adam? Will he appear in Dawn of Justice, Justice League, both or neither? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
