After "The Cornetto Trilogy" came to an end after 2013's The World's End, the writing, directing and acting team of Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Nick Frost was thought to have called it quits. Fortunately for fans of movies that are great, that is not true. In a new interview with Pegg, we've learned that the trilogy might be over but more films will absolutely happen and maybe a new franchise will be born!
Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End are three genre-spoofing comedies that fans love all over the world. These projects introduced most of the world to Frost and Pegg, and of course showed Hollywood just how great of a director Wright is. These stars have busy schedules now, but Pegg recently revealed that they could come together sometime soon for another collaboration or two!
"When we said the trilogy was over, it was because that group of films was over. They're all kind of related with each other and deal with a specific idea. There's a criteria to those films," Pegg told BBC 6 Music this week. "The next thing we do won't do that, it will just be something else. It will happen. We made three films in ten years and hopefully in the next decade we'll make another three."
Pegg added: "I really love working with those guys and I wouldn't ever not want to work with them. It's not even a question."
So there you have it! Expect a new project from this team soon! Let us know what you think of this news in the comments section below!
