Tyra Collette from Friday Night Lights is making the jump to the comic book world, as Adrianne Palicki is joining Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a guest star in Season 2.
Palicki will play spy Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actress will appear in the fifth episode of the season, though she could return later. The character will appear as a possible enemy of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team.
Patton Oswalt revealed during Comic-Con that Life Model Decoys exist in the S.H.I.E.L.D. world and hinted at Mockingbird's appearance.
Palicki is no stranger to the comic book world, as she played Wonder Woman in NBC's abandoned television show about the Amazonian princess.
In other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. news, the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine spoke to executive producer Jeffrey Bell, who said fans should be ready for some complications in the relationship between Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).
"Prepare to be mildly toyed with. Exec producer Jeff Bell told Matt Mitovich that as the Sept. 23 premiere unspools, Fitz's fate will go unaddressed 'just long enough that you think, 'Oh my God, really? Aren't they going to...?!' - before finally revealing the 411 on everyone's fave techie. But the bigger question may be: How is the lad's heart? 'The beauty of what [Fitz said to Simmons trapped underwater] is it makes for lots of complicated feelings,' Bell notes. 'I'd be curious to see how things will be different or the same now.'"
