Hans Zimmer, German film composer and music producer as well as the mastermind behind the sound for this summer's blockbuster hit  "Dark Knight Rises," has released a new song entitled "Aurora" on Facebook Friday in order to benefit the victims of the Colorado shooting.

Zimmer produced the song to help raise money for the Aurora, CO victims who were involved in a movie theater massacre last week during a midnight premiere of the film "Dark Knight Rises." He dedicates the track to all those affected by the shooting, including the survivors and their families, as well as the 12 people who lost their lives.

On July 20, 2012, James Eagan Holmes walked into a packed movie theater in Aurora, CO for the premiere of the newest Batman installmen, "Dark Knight Rises." Holmes set off tear gas and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, ultimately killing 12 and wounding 58. Charges are set to be filed against Holmes on July 30, and prosecutors are currently considering whether or not to pursue the death penalty.

The massacre received a huge response and moral support from the public, including celebrities who star in the film. Christian Bale, who plays Batman in the film, traveled to Aurora to visit the victims and their families and to give his support.

Zimmer has provided a brief, heart wrenching clip of the song "Aurora" on watertowermusic. The song is available on iTunes for $0.10, but donations can be made for up to $2,500. All proceeds will benefit the Aurora Victim Relief Organization.
