Evangeline Lilly stars alongside Paul Rudd in Marvel's Ant-Man as Hope Van Dyne. That last name has led many fans to wonder if the character could take up the mantle of the Wasp in Peyton Reed's movie, but a new report more or less squashes that idea.

Badass Digest reports about Lilly's character and first states that they have not seen the most recent draft of the script since Reed took over as director and Adam McKay (among others) made some rewrites. The site says the original script did not have Hope in any sort of heroic role and does not expect that to change, as "the large adjustments to VFX would make that unlikely."

However, this does not eliminate the possibility that Hope could decided by the end of the movie to become the Wasp. Badass Digest also reports that the script simply refers to Janet Van Dyne, Hope's mother, as "gone" rather than dead. This could of course just be another way of saying she is deceased, or it could mean she's still out there somewhere. Could Hope become the Wasp to honor her mother?

As far as the hairdo, Lilly posted the photos on Instagram. One shows a view from the side, while the other shows her with a smiling Rudd. Check out the photos here.

What do you think, Marvel fans? Will we see the Wasp in Ant-Man? Will we see Janet Van Dyne? Do you think the movie should feature the Wasp, or should Scott Lang have the spotlight all to himself? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
