The race to play the Super Bowl Halftime show is definitely heating up as the NFL has reportedly decided on three possible frontrunners to play the event. However, while Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Coldplay may all be in the running to play the biggest sporting event in history, there is one name that the National Football league has definitely ruled out... Janet Jackson.

Jackson became infamous for her nipple slip during the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime show on live TV more than 10 years ago, but when it comes to holding a grudge we guess that the NFL is the best at it. According to new reports from TMZ Sports, Janet Jackson is definitely not a possibility for Super Bowl XLIX (49), when the event comes to Glendale, Arizona in February.

According to reports from the site, when they reached out to the NFL to see who would be taking home the honor of playing this year, they responded with a pretty witty comeback.

"As for potential acts-we have only ruled out Janet Jackson," the league stated.

We are still scratching our heads as to why Justin Timberlake's name isn't on the banned performance list; after all he is the one that caused the wardrobe malfunction.

This news however, doesn't bring us any closer to finding out if it will be Katy Perry, Rihanna, or Coldplay that will get the honor to play at the XLIX Super Bowl.

In other news, we reported yesterday that the league is trying to get whoever plays the Halftime Show to cough up some serious money to take the stage.
