In the aftermath of the season six's shocking conclusion, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) found himself holding his dead wife in his arms. In the upcoming seventh season of FX's Sons of Anarchy, will actress Maggie Siff show up one more time as Tara Knowles?
No one expected Tara to die violently and so cruelly by Jax's mother, Gemma (Katey Sagal). Gemma just stabbed her with a meat fork in the back of the head. Even though her character is dead, is thee still a chance for the Mad Men guest star to return in a flashback? Would her cameo appearance help find closure for Jax and audiences?
Creator/showrunner Kurt Sutter tells TVLine, "I've never done flashbacks or dream sequences on this show. They tend to pull me out of the reality of a show like this. Although The Sopranos used them very effectively with Tony, it doesn't make sense for Jax to experience that."
Sutter hasn't strayed away from his Shakespearean roots though. Remember when Hamlet sees father as a ghost, the son ends up driving himself mad. Even Uncle Claudius went a little crazy when the murder was recreated in front of him.
The Southpaw screenwriter teases Gemma will still feel conflicted over what she has done, even though she is covering up Tara's murder. Sutter adds, "Gemma has this odd, remorse-driven]dialogue with Tara throughout the season, as if she's sitting right there next to her."
As reported here, the Antichrist Superstar will be making an appearance on the motorcycle drama. Marilyn Manson will play the white supremacist Ron Tully inside lockup. Though the musician-turned-actor appears briefly in the first episode, the two rebels will eventually form an alliance behind bars.
The final season of Sons of Anarchy stars September 9th. Readers, would you like to see Maggie Siff one more time on the show?
