Every Sunday night, The Strain continues to terrify audiences, aiming for the jugular, with their impending vampire apocalypse. FX takes viewers behind-the-scenes with their latest featurette, 'Inside The Strain: Boliver.'

In our recent recaps, we have detailed how the vampire virus spreads through the bloodstream, transforming the host's body from within. In the series, actor Jack Kesy plays rock star shocker, Gabriel Boliver, who has been infected with the disease. In his transformation, in the most shocking scene, the worst part about being a vampire is that you have to lose your balls.

The Grand Street actor explains, "You're going to see a human being slowly transform into this vampire. It's not just two fangs and a cloak. You're bloodshot eyes turn into black. Your hair starts falling out."

In the mind-blowing scene, Boliver is standing next to the toilet when his genitals drop. We don't see them drop, but we do hear the plop.

Executive producer and co-writer of The Strain vampire novels, Chuck Hogan, discusses why this shocking moment has made its way from the Dark Horse Comics adaptation to the TV screen, "You retain an essence of your humanity in terms of your appearance, but you start to look more animalistic."

Notice how House of Cards actor Corey Stoll can't keep a straight face as he adds, "You go smooth as they say. You lose your junk. You become fixated more and more on that feeding, that thirst, and that hunger."

As reported here, The Strain continues with the episode, 'For Services Rendered:'

The Strain airs Sundays on FX at 10pm. Readers, what did you think of the shocking scene?
