'The Mindy Project' Season 3 Spoilers - Niecy Nash To Join Cast As Rival To Mindy Kaling's Character

Have you all been anxiously waiting for the return of Dr. Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) and Dr Castellano (Chris Messina) on The Mindy Project as much as we have? Well the wait is almost over as the new season is set to premiere in just a couple of weeks, and to hold you over from the summer long draught we are here to give you some casting news on the third season of The Mindy Project.

According to E! News, Reno 911! veteran and comedian Niecy Nash is about to stir things up in the world of Miss Lahiri as she is set to board the comedy series as the arch rival and nemesis of Mindy.

According to E! News, the Getting On star is set to play a lesbian doctor, who will butt heads with our favorite witty OBGYN. Nash's character, Dr. Jean Fishman, will come in to the practice as the new Chief for Shulman & Associates and she isn't about to put up with any funny business. She has a tough physician exterior is described as a "take-no prisoners type."

The Boston native isn't about to put up with Shenanigans that typically happen at the Shulman offices.

What will this mean for Mindy and Danny? Will their office romance be forbidden by Fishman? Hopefully not as viewers just got used to the idea of these two lovebirds finally being together.

Viewer will have to tune into The Mindy Project when the fourth season premieres on Tuesday, September 16 to see all the fighting between Niecy and Mindy's characters.
