For weeks and weeks the world knew that Kevin Love would be joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, and they knew it would be at the expense of the Cavs' back-to-back number one draft selections; Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins. Today, the first day such a move could happen, the two teams completed the deal, meaning Love has joined forces with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, while the two prospects will help to reshape the Minnesota Timberwolves' franchise from top to bottom. The trade has obvious benefits for both teams, but which team has/will "win" this trade?
Love is an All-Star in his prime, and adding his numbers to LeBron and Kyrie's is rather scary to say the least. Love had made it clear he wanted to join forces with James, and it never seemed like he would end up on any other NBA roster. At first the Cavaliers tried to find a way to keep their rookie, Wiggins, but around a month ago signed him up, knowing they'd have to trade their asset for their short term NBA championship goals.
Was giving up Wiggins worthwhile? Still, Bennett could be the better player. Despite a poor rookie season, he has shown promise this summer, and the Cavaliers believed they ha two very capable stars. The Cavaliers of old would of loved this duo, but the new-look Cavaliers are hungry for wins, smiles and titles, and that means having the best roster, which Love certainly guarantees them, and their young duo did not.
Will Love with an NBA title in Cleveland, and who will win this NBA blockbuster trade?
