According to the lawyer representing Snoop Dogg, the rap star has been denied future access into Norway for the next two years after he attempted to enter the country with a small amount of marijuana in June.
According to Snoop Dogg's Norwegian legal Representative Holger Hagesaeter in a statement made to the Associate Press on Saturday, the "Gin & Juice" superstar and Dr. Dre protégé "can live with the decision" and has no immediate plans to appeal it.
On his way to a music festival in southern Norway earlier in June, Snoop Dogg was stopped in the airport by some curious sniffer dogs who soon detected eight grams of marijuana in Dogg's luggage. Dogg was also found to be carrying more money on his person than Norway legally allowed, and was eventually fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600) after admitting to the two offenses.
The charges have not seemed to slow Snoop Dogg down, considering he will be performing at this weekend's first ever, two-day Catalpa New York City's Music Festival on Randalls Island. Snoop Doggy Dogg is set to headline the Sunday stage, and will be joined by a number of other acts including renown DJ Girl Talk, rockers Cold War Kids, and the reggae artist Matisyahu. The Catalpa website claims that Dogg will be performing the entirety of his debut studio album, 1993's "Doggystyle."
