In FX's The Strain, the city of New York continues to sink into Hell after the eclipse blocked out the sun. Viewers are about to discover the back-story behind the old vampire hunter as some new faces show up in 'For Services Rendered.'

While Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) shows Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) his silver bullet collection, Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) tries to understand the logic behind the vampire infection. If they kill The Master, then that will automatically kill the rest of his spawn.

In Abraham's flashback, we see how the old vampire hunter first meets the Nazi solider, Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel). At the concentration site, Eichorst wants Abraham to do an important job for him. The carpenter has to craft The Master's coffin with his own bare hands.

In lockup, none of the guards believe Gus (Miguel Gomez) killed an actual vampire. Behind bars, the prisoner discovers his friend is feeling sick. Gus doesn't realize his bitten friend has been infected with the vampire disease.

The trio then arrives at Jim Kent (Sean Astin)'s place just as he was packing. Jim reveals to his sick wife that he is cause of al the mess that is going on in the city. When Jim mentions who was bribing him, Abraham immediately recognizes the person he is talking about.

As Abraham's flashback continues, we discover Eichorst having daily conversations with his prisoner. He doesn't remember Abraham's name, just the numbers on his wrist. Eichorst believes Hitler's time has come to an end, but there will be a new Reich to rise from the ashes.

Joan's maid still has the children inside her apartment. The maid's daughter wants the kids to go back to their mother. None of them realize Joan (Leslie Hope) has already transformed to a hideous undead creature and murdered their father.

Jim sends in a message to Eichorst and lies about dumping the dead body. Eichorst is supposed to meet him at an exact location in Grand Central. During their confrontation, Jim trembles in fear after Eichorst says he won't go after him, just his wife.

Eph and Nora chase after Echorist throughout the subway, follow him into the dark tunnels, and lose him all of a sudden. Abrham finds his adversary on the platform but he is too slow with the sword. After easily overpowering the old man, Echorist is about to unleash his stinger, when Eph  blasts his leg.

After Echorist escapes, the maid, her daughter, and Joan's children finally arrive at their home. The maid's daughter blocks Joan's stinger with her hand but ends up getting cut. As they run throughout the house, Joan's reflection vibrates when she walks past a mirror.

With the entire group trapped in the corner, all seems lost as Joan is about to feed on her own children. All of a sudden, Joan is shot in the head by a silver stake. The vampire hunters, who also happen to be bloodsuckers, have arrived to save the day.

After checking on the children, the vampire/vampire hunter fires another shot, killing the maid's daughter. Her cut would have spread the disease even further.

There are new players in town who also want to stop the vampire plague in The Strain. Readers, what did you think of 'For Services Rendered?
