The Aug. 25, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the Honda Center in Anaheim at 8 p.m. Eastern. John Cena will return to WWE television after a week off to address his loss to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Last Sunday, Lesnar demolished Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Champinship at SummerSlam. On last week's edition of Raw, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon presented Lesnar with the new title belt, and Paul Heyman cut another breathtaking promo about his client, the new champion. Cena did not appear on television in order to sell the beat down Lesnar gave him, but WWE has announced that the former champ will be back tonight to address his loss.
What will Cena say? Will he be his usual joking self, or will he stay serious and show a bit of a darker side after Lesnar ripped him to shreds a little more than a week ago? The rematch is already set for Night of Champions, but what can Cena say to restore confidence in his fans that he can conquer the conqueror?
Another segment is planned with Hall of Famers Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, and the three will discuss the rematch between Lesnar and Cena. Lesnar is not scheduled to appear on tonight's broadcast and is not set to appear until the go-home show for Night of Champions. Will Cena get involved in this segment tonight? Perhaps this is how and when Cena will come out to address his loss. For the record, the segment with the three Hall of Famers is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. on the WWE Network and will then continue into the main Raw show.
Will Heyman come out to serve as a proxy for his client? If so, will he respond immediately to Cena's words, or will he come out by himself to preach to the WWE Universe?
Roman Reigns beat Randy Orton at SummerSlam, but the Viper doesn't seem to be done with Reigns yet. He tore apart Rob Van Dam on Friday Night SmackDown last week and then attacked Reigns after his match with The Miz. Reigns has promised to finish off Orton once and for all and then move on to Seth Rollins, who took out Dean Ambrose on Raw last week after he Curb Stomped his head through some cinderblocks.
How, if at all, will these two stories converge tonight? Will Reigns keep his focus on Orton, or will he cross paths with Rollins, as well? Ambrose is out of action while he films the new WWE Studios movie Lockdown, and he is expected to come back after Night of Champions. Rumors still maintain Reigns could face Triple H at Night of Chanpions, so WWE would have to start that build pretty soon, probably as early as tonight, if it were to happen.
Brie Bella has not spoken since her sister Nikki Bella slapped her on Raw last week and turned her back on her. Will Brie's war with Stephanie McMahon continue, or will she turn her focus solely on her sister and try to get revenge on the woman who betrayed her?
AJ Lee and Paige continue their war over the Divas Championship, as each woman has cost the other multiple matches in the last few weeks. Will one get the upper hand on the other during tonight's show? It seems like the two are headed for a rematch at Night of Champions, so perhaps we'll find out tonight.
As always, check back with MStars immediately after the show for a full recap of all the Monday Night Raw action. But for now, let us know your predictions and expectations for tonight's episode in the comments section.
