Season 3 of Arrow will show Oliver (Stephen Amell) in Hong Kong during the flashback sequences to depict how he took steps to become the green, hooded hero in the present day. One of the characters who helps him on that journey is Tatsu Yamashiro. Devon Aoki was supposed to play the character, but that is reportedly no longer the case.
Deadline reports Rila Fukushima, who starred in The Wolverine last year, has replaced Aoki, who reportedly left the show because of scheduling conflicts. Tatsu has been described as a major recurring role in Season 3 and is "one of Oliver's mentors in the flashbacks and a critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day."
Regardless of who plays the character, many fans are wondering if she will show up in Starling City, perhaps as a certain costumed character named Katana.
In other news, the "Spoiler Room" column at EW.com reports the following about Roy in Season 3 and even has some details on an episode dedicated to the sidekick.
"Now that Roy is becoming Arsenal, does that mean he's an actual member of Team Arrow? - Mitchell
Yep. He's on even footing with Felicity and Dig, so says executive producer Marc Guggenheim. 'Episode 6 is very much a Roy-centric episode that deals very directly with Roy's place on the team and particularly Oliver's relationship with Roy.' Could this be the episode that Roy finds out he accidentally killed someone last season?"
