Could all of the divorce and cheating rumors surrounding Jay Z and Beyonce have been all in the name of promoting their tour? According to Bey's dad, Matthew Knowles they were. While the couple shared an intimate moment together at the Video Music Awards this past Sunday, they put all the rumors of an eminent split between them to rest, but could the rumors have been fake all this time?

According to RadarOnline, Matthew spoke to the Houston based radio show, Roula & Ryan radio show on 104,1 KRBE were he explained that the whole thing was a "Jedi mind trick" to help "ignite" interest in the On The Run Tour.

"I know, because we've done this," the patriarch of the Knowles family explained. "From experience, there's a tour going on, so you something have to ignite that tour. It's called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot."

As the hosts listened to what Beyonce's father had to say, they come up with even more conspiracy theories surrounding the hip-hop power couple. They even ask if it was possible that Solange Knowles, Beyonce and Jay Z leaked the now infamous elevator tape from the Met Gala themselves, in order to gain publicity.

"All I know it the Jedi mind trick," Matthew responds coyly. "Everyone's talking about it. Ticket sales went up."

He even comments on Solange's career saying, "Solange's album sales went up 200%."
