With True Blood season 7 finally finished on HBO, actress Deborah Ann Woll is looking ahead with her latest project, Marvel's Daredevil. The former Jessica Hamby discusses her upcoming role as Karen Page on the highly anticipated Netflix series.
As reported here, we saw a photo of the former red-headed starlet with co-star Elden Henson (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay). Though we don't know how many episodes the Mother's Day actress will be in, we can confirm she plays an integral role in the Marvel anthology.
Comic book fans remember Page (Woll) as the secretary hired by Froggy for his law office. While Matt Murdock (Cox) is running around as the vigilante at night, by day he falls in love with his employee. Their budding romance is interrupted when The Kingpin (D'Onofrio) wants to hurt the blind lawyer at his core.
In an interview with Zap2it, the My Name is Earl guest star reveals she had a little difficulty stepping away from Jessica after 7 seasons. Woll describes the transition, "I was like, 'Oh, right. I've only known Karen for like four weeks as opposed to seven years.' I have to do this work all over again, and maybe in two years I'll be at the point where I can cry at the drop of a hat for Karen. [laughs]"
The Axe Cop voice actress did find her groove again and stepped into her new role with confidence, "It just takes a little bit of extra effort to get there, and making things even more real or higher stakes for yourself, whatever you've got to do to get yourself there."
When a TV series ends, especially one that was as popular as True Blood, many actors have difficulty finding another hit show. It doesn't look like Woll will be having that problem, especially with a huge fan base like Marvel's.
Marvel's Daredevil will premiere on Netflix on May 2015. Readers, are you excited to see Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page?
