Fox's Gotham has released new footage starring actress Jada Pinkett Smith and co-star Robin Taylor. In the latest trailer, 'All Hail The Queen,' let's see what makes mob boss Fish Mooney such a worthy adversary in the latest edition of the Batman rogue gallery.
Fish Mooney (Smith) does not exist in the comic books and was created specifically for the TV show. As reported here, The Matrix Reloaded action star worked with show unner Bruno Heller to create the back-story of the original character. Though Mooney isn't from the comic books, she is pivotal to the origin stories of the Dark Knight villains.
In the DC Universe, The Penguin, aka Oswald Copplepot, is nicknamed as the "gentleman of crime." In the criminal underworld, the mob boss runs a local nightclub where everything has goes to by him first. No crime is initiated without his say so, but even then, they are thwarted by the caped crusader.
Because this is an origin story, Cobblepot (Taylor) starts out as a lowly henchmen to Mooney and snitch to the police. Cobblepot wants to run Gotham City but he has to somehow get Mooney out of the way. The series will take viewers on the Penguin's twisted journey as he rises through the ranks.
In the opening of the trailer, we see Mooney asking a bloody and beaten man, "Where's my money?" When he shakes his head no, Mooney then bashes his head open with a steel pipe. This crime lord doesn't mind getting her hands dirty.
