During the summer transfer window two strikers rarely went unmentioned. The pair being Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao. With the latter today joining Manchester United on deadline day, attention has already turned to the January winter transfer window. Premier League clubs Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City snubbed the chance to bid for Falcao, which raised eyebrows across the world, but some are suggesting that it's because PSG forward Cavani will be available this winter. Where will he sign?
Manchester United, despite lacking UEFA Champions League football, seemingly moved to the front of the que for Falcao with little effort, suggesting their rival clubs had other concerns. Some of these teams are in need of a striker, but a deadline day deal for Edinson would of proved a difficult one to conclude. Some have suggested talks are ongoing to sign Cavani, meaning they can agree a deal in principle, which could be finished in January.
Falcao will add talent to United, however, Cavani is considered a better, albeit, more expensive signing, which would explain why the other clubs refused to bid for him. Cavani is considered the better option, with Falcao and Cavani considered an impossibly expensive pairing, explaining why nobody wanted to commit to Falcao, and ultimately miss out on Cavani. If both forwards are playing in the EPL in the coming year, then the league will gain some exciting, attacking flare indeed.
Where will Cavani sign, and did these clubs make the right decision in waiting for Cavani over Falcao?
FOURTH OFFICIAL will keep you posted on every deal
