WWE taped the Sept. 5, 2014 edition of Friday Night SmackDown on Tuesday in Lincoln, Nebraska, to continue to build toward Night of Champions later this month. The show begins with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.
Cena cuts a promo about Brock Lesnar and Night of Champions but the ring eventually gets crowded, as Chris Jericho, Big Show, Mark Henry, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, The Wyatt Family and Kane all come out. Unsurprisingly, Triple H sets up a 10-man tag team match for the main event.
Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler defeats Cesaro with a roll up. Sheamus is on commentary for the match. Cesaro beats up Ziggler after the loss but Sheamus runs in and flattens him.
Jimmy Uso defeats Heath Slater in a standard match after a promo by Goldust and Stardust.
Rusev and Lana cut another anti-America promo. Mark Henry comes out to interrupt and does a pro-USA speech.
Paige defeats Brie Bella with the Paige Turner. Nikki Bella and AJ Lee are on commentary for this match. The finish occurs when AJ attacks Nikki. Brie goes outside to break them up and the Divas Champion takes advantage of the distraction.
Bo Dallas defeats Zack Ryder. Jack Swagger attacks Bo after the match.
Cena, Jericho, Reigns, Big Show and Mark Henry fight Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Kane to a no contest (some reports have it as a DQ win for the babyface team) after all the heels attack Cena. The babyfaces hit their finishers and stand tall to end the show.
