Justin Bieber Tweets Support for Canadian Olympic Gymnast

Justin Bieber is a strong supporter of his native country when it comes to the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and on Sunday he made one Canadian competitor feel extra special.

Dominique Pegg, 18, asked Bieber, 18, to wish her and her teammates good luck in Sunday's team artistic gymnastics qualifier. Pegg, originally from Ontario, tweeted:

@domiP3gg: "K @justinbieber I will be competing in the Olympics in a few hours now. I think its time that you say goodluck! #London2012 #TeamCanada :)." 

After the Canadian women's gymnastics team succeeded in qualifying for the team final after placing sixth in Sunday's event (a Canadian first), Pegg got the surprise of a lifetime when Bieber (originally from Stratford, Ontario) actually responded to her tweet, saying:

@justinbieber: "@domiP3gg sorry im late 2 the party. want to let you know as a proud canadian Im always supporting you and proud of you. STAND UP CANADA! :)."

Qualifying for the Olympic finals and getting a shout-out from one of pop music's biggest stars all in a matter of hours, not too bad for an 18-year-old from the city of London, Ontario, huh?

Pegg also individually qualified to advance in the all-around final, placing eighteenth with a score of 55.657.[34].

Pegg excitedly tweeted the Biebs back with:

@domiP3gg: "@justinbieber OMG thank you so much for tweeting me!!" Pegg, who qualified for the event finals, wrote back. "Thank you for teaching me to never give up on my dreams! #lookatusnow! #believe!"

Pegg went so far as to retweet a fellow fan's post that reads,

@SaaneBieber, @domiP3gg: "@justinbieber can [change] lives without even noticing. One of a kind!" @domiP3gg dreams to come true... If you just #Believe and #nsn :)"

Pegg can't seem to stop mentioning the Biebs in her Twitter posts now, tweeting yesterday:

@domiP3gg: "Hey @justinbieber, are you gunna come watch us at team finals tomorrow? I'm sure I can get u a pass to get in ;) #TeamCanada #gymnastics."

The Candian women's gymnastics team competes on Tuesday in the team final, and early Tuesday morning Pegg threw out one more Canadian shout-out to Bieber over Twitter:

@domiP3gg: "Jammin to @justinbieber with @brittyrogers while getting ready for Team finals today!! #Canadaswag."

Although the chances of Bieber showing up for the London event are slim, still be sure to catch the women's gymnastics-artistic final competition on Tuesday, July 31 which airs London time at 16:30 (4:30 p.m.).
