Union Grove High School just got a step closer to Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Union Grove teachers Jordan Hein and Mitchell Brachmann try to raise funds for classroom materials and more learning opportunities for their students with a Footloose themed music video.
Let's take a trip to the '80s, when the musical drama hit theaters nationwide. Ren McCormack (Bacon), is an upbeat Chicago teen who moves to a small and sleepy quiet town. After a tragic accident, local minister (John Lithgow) has banned dancing and rock music from being played and listened to.
In the present day, Hein teaches health and physical education, while coaching football and wrestling after-school activities. Barchmann teaches real science, not the kind Walter White is known for. Together, they brought along their students to make a video to raise profits for their gofundme fundraiser.
The music video was filmed and produced outside of school hours. The students used their knowledge from video class to put together the music video. No public funds were used in the production.
According to their fundraiser profile, the money raised will be used to make new jerseys, more soccer balls, and add exercise equipment. There's nothing wrong with wanting a new ice machine for the school, especially on a hot summer day.
