Britney Spears has taken lots of flack in rumorville recently, as her breakup with David Lucado has made headlines.
It seems as though we have forgotten the things that have put Mrs. Spears on the map, such as her infamous abs past and present.
Mstars has done its research and found the trainer who was responsible for putting Britney's abs on the map for her "I'm A Slave 4 U" performance at the 2001 VMAs. As Spears slithered around stage holding an albino Burmese Python around her shoulders little did they know that what stole the show was her washboard abs that for years to come would be a staple in the industry.
Bobby Strom is an Elite Fitness expert to the stars. Training the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds. Strom is the mastermind behind contouring their figures into perfect shape.
Here is the original exercise rundown Bobby Strom used to create Britney's lean midsection.
50 Bosu ball stomach crunches
50 Bosu ball oblique crunches
50 Plank with knee thrust
50 Resistant ball abdominal crunch
50 Core stabilizing hip twist
Finish off with a lower back QL (quadratus lumborum) stretch
This workout has a total 250 repetitions. According to Strom, Britney would do the entire workout three to four times, totaling 750-1000 repetitions!
With the announcement of her Planet Hollywood residency in Las Vegas last year, Britney, 32, must keep her body in shape like it was 15 years ago. Britney's current trainer, Tony Martinez tells Hollyscoop some of the routines he uses to keep her abs tight.
"We work out three to four times a week for about 15-30 minutes each session," explains Martinez. "I am just trying to up her protein level. We try to make sure that she has between 75-80 grams of protein a day."
It seems as though Britney will always be in fitness mode, it's a pop stars job.
