Chris Evans appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his directorial debut Before We Go. But of course, he answered a few questions about The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America 3 while he was there.
MTV News spoke to the actor and asked him how Joss Whedon's next superhero installment leads into Cap 3. "That's the beauty of the Marvel (Cinematic) Universe... It's this giant web of plot, where everything is connected to everything else whether it's Thor, Iron Man or Avengers, everything is kind of involved," Evans said. " So that's the beautiful thing and especially for the fanboys who understand these plotlines. Every time a new film is announced, there is this surge of excitement to where they are gonna go. I think with Cap 3, we're going to continue this excitement."
MTV then asked about the rumor that Captain America would be leading a new team of Avengers by the end of Age of Ultron, and Evans offered a non-answer. "What do I think about this, what can I say about this?" he said. "You wanna give something! Marvel doesn't disappoint. Whatever you're hoping for, you're probably going to get."
Finally, MTV questioned Evans about the speculation that Captain America would pass down his shield to the Winter Soldier, the Falcon or another character. "Who's handing off the shield?" he jokingly replied. "Don't take my job from me prematurely, dude. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I'm really happy playing the character."
