As the Breaking Bad marathon continues on AMC, this is the perfect opportunity to pick out our favorite scenes from the award-winning crime drama, especially with the prequel/sequel Better Call Saul coming up. Here are the top 5 best episodes from Bob Odenkirk as the meth kingpin's trusted and sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman.
Previously, we did a list about the top 5 best tough-guy moments from Hank Schrader, played by Dean Norris, picked out the best episodes starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as the chemistry teacher gone bad and his junkie sidekick. Now it's time to put the spotlight on Odenkirk's funniest performances.
5) Season 2: Better Call Saul
This is our first introduction to the lawyer, but Badger had already seen him on TV. For someone who's supposed to be a charlatan, he is pretty deceptively smart. Not only is he able to deduce Hank's plans with Badger, he figures out Walter is really Heisenberg.
4) Season 3: Abiquiu
This is the first time Saul meets Walter's wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn). In their flirtatious introduction, Saul teases, "Clearly his taste in women is the same as his taste in lawyers. Only the very best, with just a right amount of dirty." The humor continues with Walter rolling his eyes afterwards.
3) Season 5: To'hajiilee
At the car wash, Walt Jr. (RJ Mitte) is in awe of Saul because it's like meeting with a celebrity. Saul is hysterical as he mentions, "Don't drink and drive but if you do, call me." This is the only scene they have together; makes you wonder why they have didn't think of this before.
2) Season 3: Caballo Sin Nombre
Odenkirk actually says real-life lawyers have come up to him and said this scene is on the nose. Most deals aren't made in the courtroom as Saul takes down Jesse's parents and gets them to lower the price to their house.
1) Season 5: Granite State
In the second-to-last episode, Saul gives his advice to Walter one last time before he goes off into hiding. Walter has to find a way to give money to his son without the FBI knowing about the donation. His last scene probably sets the tone to his own series.
The Breaking Bad Binge Marathon starts at 5pm through 1am on AMC. Readers, what's your favorite Saul Goodman episode?
