According to Snoop Dogg (who can be referred to as Snoop Lion from here on out), rap is no longer a challenge for him and he wants to expand his musical bounds into the realm of reggae.

It was reported by Huffington Post on Monday that Snoop Dogg stated, "With no disrespect to other rappers, but they can't f*** with me in rap. I won every accolade you can get in rap, they call me 'Uncle Snoop' in rap. When you're an uncle, it's time to find something new ... I want to feel like a kid again."

Hence is why the West Coast MC plans on releasing a reggae project entitled "Reincarnated" - which will not feature any rap tunes.

Check out the video trailer where Snoop Dog transforms into Snoop Lion:

Snoop Lion goes on to explain that, "I want to bury Snoop Dogg, and become Snoop Lion. I didn't know that until I went to the temple, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said, 'Snoop Dogg.' And he looked me in my eyes and said, 'No more. You are the light; you are the lion.' From that moment on, it's like I had started to understand why I was there."

So looks like the rapper-turned-reggae enthusiast's transition is under way, with reports that the electronic musician Diplo of Major Lazer is working on the album with Snoop Dogg (Lion!)

Snoop Lion released a sounder statement to the press as to why he plans to switch from rap to reggae, claiming that he has the desire "to perform for kids and [my] grandmother, people around the world who really love me and can't really accept the music that I make. This reggae music is music of love -happiness and sadness."

A single off of "Reincarnated" has already been released on iTunes, entitled "La La La." Check it out below:

Snoop Lion might just find success as a reggae artist, "La La La" is pretty catchy.
