‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season Six Trailer Reveals A New Love Interest For Stefan And More!

The Vampire Diaries is almost back and to tide you over, The CW has released a new promo trailer. From Elena's undying love for Damon to Stefan's new love interest, this trailer is full of spoilers to watch over and over again until the Oct. 2 premiere.

Last season, The Vampire Diaries ended with Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, and Bonnie, played by Kat Graham, trapped on "the other side." How will everyone deal with them being gone? Will they ever come back? These are two big questions that season six will hopefully answer.

Creator Julie Plec told E! Online what to expect this season and the new trailer backs it up.

"You'll see enough of them to make you happy and more as it goes along. They are by no means going to be off the air for six episodes. The mystery is where are they, what happened, are they dead, not dead, and what the hell are they going to do together, those two of all people," Julie explained to the publication.

As the trailer reveals, Elena, played by Nina Dobrev, cannot get over the loss of her love, Damon. She flashes back to better times where they were together, which is a treat for any Delana fans out there. The heart wrenching part however, is when both Stefan and Damon tell her to move on.

"They're both [Stefan and Elena] grieving, but they're both coping with their grief in very specific and not necessarily conventional ways," Julie revealed.

In CW's newest sneak peak into the vampire series, we not only see Elena and Damon, but Alaric (who just came back to life) and Caroline are also very present. The clip also reveals that although there aren't supposed to be any more vampires in Mystic Falls, the humans are not safe.

Lastly, Stefan, who is played by Paul Wesley, and a mystery girl are seen sharing a kiss. It looks like Stefan and Caroline's "more than friends" relationship isn't going to start up any time soon. We don't know who his new love interest is, but Stefan does admit that he is a vampire when she asks him to reveal something about himself.

In addition to the new promo video, Ian Somerhalder shared a "top secret" picture on Friday while filming the new season.
