The September 8, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore and begins with the steel cage match between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt wins the match when he and Jericho brawl at the open door of the cage and Bray tumbles out over Jericho onto the floor. Y2J had a great high spot in this match when he jumped off the top of the cage (after a shrug) and landed on Bray, but tweaked his knee. Bray took advantage of this to win the match. Bray assaults Jericho after the match and hits Sister Abigail back in the ring.

Kane is backstage with Seth Rollins and they talk about the cage match. Triple H comes up and congratulates Kane on a great start to the season premiere of Raw. Randy Orton comes up and says he will provide an unforgettable night when he faces Roman Reigns in the main event. He asks Triple H for permission to maim Reigns, and he gets it.

Dolph Ziggler comes out to cut a promo about The Miz and says he has some interesting photos of the actor. He shows a photo of Miz getting a facial and shaving his chest. He tries to show the third one but The Miz interrupts him with Damien Sandow, who mirrors every one of Miz's actions. He threatens to sue Ziggler for invading his privacy. Ziggler then shows the final photo of Sandow spray tanning a naked Miz. Sandow tries to attack but Ziggler dropkicks him. He tries to attack Miz, but he runs, so Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on Sandow. Miz backs away up the ramp.

AJ Lee and Paige defeat Natalya and Rosa Mendes after AJ tags herself in and locks in the Black Widow on Rosa. The winners argue after the match and AJ grabs the Divas title. She kisses it before she gives it back to Paige, who also kisses it. AJ smiles and skips up the ramp.

A trainer checks on Jericho backstage and Randy Orton attacks Y2J, who holds his knee in pain.

Paul Heyman comes out to issue a warning to John Cena on behalf of Brock Lesnar, but Cena cuts him off before he can say all that much. Cena invites Heyman to say it to his face. Heyman says this is the reason he always tells Brock that Cena was the greatest champion of all time up until SummerSlam. Heyman says if Cena came out to the ring, then Lesnar authorized him to tell Cena how to beat him.

Cena says he already knows how to beat Lesnar: never give up. He gives Heyman the "Never Give Up" towel and tells him to give it to Lesnar. Heyman laughs and says this is Cena's biggest problem. Cena lives for the kid who chants for him, but Lesnar only hears three people: the referee, Heyman, and his victims. But Heyman gives him the secret to beat Lesnar anyway: give into temptation. Heyman asks if Cena wants to just one time tap into that resentment and hatred and tell the fat guy in the sixth row who chants "Cena sucks" to shut up. He tries to get Cena to turn on the crowd and even does a rap to mock to Doctor of Thuganomics Cena.

Heyman literally gets on his knees and begs Cena to give in and tells him to lose the wristbands and the T-shirts. If he does, he can be the one to beat the one in 21-1, or he can just be another victim in the conqueror. Heyman says he believes in Cena, but Lesnar does not think Cena has it in him.

Cena sits on the ropes and looks at the crowd as if he is going to say something, but then he gets back in the ring. The dual chants break out and Cena screams shut up...at Heyman. Cena says he sees right through him because all Lesnar and Heyman want is to end him. But he refuses to turn his back on the fans who believe in him.

Cena says Heyman lives in the world of "eat, sleep, conquer, repeat" and he would even betray Lesnar if it benefitted him. Cena says he lives his life with purpose and his motto is "eat, sleep, be John Cena, repeat." He says he was born this way and would not change even if he could. Cena lists off the reasons why he loves being who he is, including Make-A-Wish work and meeting wounded veterans.

But Heyman wants Cena to strip it all away to win a match, and Cena asks him what he has really won if he does that. Cena says it's time to fight and Heyman should be happy because he gets to see Cena's rage. He challenges Heyman to bring Lesnar next week but if the champion does not show up, then he will fight Heyman instead.

Seth Rollins defeats Sheamus after Cesaro distracts the United States Champion. Rollins hits Sheamus with the Curb Stomp and gets the pin. Cesaro gets in the ring, mocks the "Fella" scream and hits the Neutralizer.

Rusev comes out with Lana to do more of the usual anti-America schtick. They play the Russian national anthem and show a picture of Vladimir Putin on the screen.

The four combatants in the Fatal Four Way NXT Championship match at NXT Takeover II compete in a tag team match, with champion Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn against Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd. Neville and Zayn earn the win when Neville hits the Red Arrow on Breeze.

Stephanie McMahon comes out for the Jerry Springer segment with Brie Bella and Nikki Bella. Stephanie says she wrestled Vince McMahon in this building ten years ago, but they have reconciled since then because there is no one more important than family. It's time to bring the Bellas back together, and she could think of no one else better suited to the task than Jerry Springer, who comes out with his security guard, Jason.

Brie comes out to her new theme music. She says she does not forgive Nikki, but she should not have stooped to her level. Nikki then comes out and the sisters shake hands. Nikki says she feels sorry for Brie and gloats that she has a Divas title match. Springer shows some Total Divas clips to prove that this goes much further back than SummerSlam. Nikki says Brie is the reason their dad left, and Springer shows messages from their mom and dad.

Brie says Nikki broke her heart, but she still has JJ in her corner. Springer then brings out their younger brother, "JJ Bella," whose real name is JJ Garcia. He tells Nikki to stop acting like the victim, and she attacks Brie. Everybody goes down and Nikki accidentally slaps JJ. Even Stephanie gets involved and winds up on the ground. Referees come out to separate everyone and they bring out a stretcher for Springer.

Goldust and Stardust defeat Los Matadores. As they pose on the stage, The Usos attack them from behind with crutches. The Dust Brothers run away.

WWE airs a tribute to the late Joan Rivers.

Adam Rose beats Titus O'Neil with the Party Foul after Heath Slater tries to attack the bunny and gets a superkick for his trouble. Rose gets the pin off the distraction. The bunny then climbs the top rope and splashes Titus.

Renee Young interviews Roman Reigns backstage and asks what Randy meant by his words earlier. Reigns says he does not know, but he has the antidote for the Viper's venom.

Roman Reigns beats Randy Orton by disqualification when Kane and Rollins attack Reigns after he countered the RKO and hit the Superman Punch. Kane and Rollins come out with the ring crew, who quickly set up the steel cage. Reigns throws Rollins and Kane out of the ring, but Rollins slips a chair in before the cage comes down completely. Reigns spears Orton.

Kane tries to get in through the door but Reigns swings the chair at him. Rollins then jumps off the top of the cage right onto Reigns. Kane attacks Reigns and chokeslams him. Orton pulverizes him with the chair and Rollins Curb Stomps him right onto the chair. The three heels stand over Reigns as the show goes off the air.
