Does waiting for marriage make it that much sweeter? Well it certainly makes it cuter; at lease we think so. A lesbian couple that has been going strong for more than 72 years finally decided to tie the knot over the weekend. Vivian Boyack and Alice Dubes made things official as they took each other as wives in the sweet ceremony.
According to The Independent, the 91-year-old and 90-year-old got hitched this past Saturday in Davenport, Iowa at the First Christian Church. The couple was seated next to each other in their wheelchairs as they exchanged vows and took each other in holy matrimony.

The lovebirds first met back in 1942 in their hometown of Yale, Iowa. They later moved to Davenport together and found jobs. Boyack worked as a teacher while Dubes worked in the payroll department for local Iowa newspaper, The Times and Democrat.
The Quad-City Times reports that Vivian and Alice's wedding was attended by the couples close friends and family.
Jerry Yeast, who worked as the couples' gardener, gushed about the newlyweds, saying, "I've know these two women all my life, and I can tell you, they're special."
"This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago," officiating Reverend Linda Hunsaker said of the nuptials.
Gay marriage first became legal in Iowa back in 2009, but the women said that they just became ready for the new chapter in their lives together.
Congrats to the happy couple!!
