'Angry Planet' host George Kourounis joins producer Sam Cossman, along with volcanic adventurers Geoff Mackely and Brad Ambrose, as they enter the world's most dangerously remote and inaccessible volcano, Marum Crater. In the South Pacific, the daring team of extreme explorers took a bunch of GoPro Cameras as they traveled deep into the fiery and hellish pit.
On the Travel Channel's program, viewers would see the most frightening and fierce phenomena that Mother Nature can dish out. Storm chaser Kourounis dealt with different segments, ranging from tornadoes, avalanches, and hurricanes. But this is something that the fearless explorer hasn't been through before.
In their expedition, the group travels from San Francisco to Vanuatu, where they are greeted by the natives. By the time they reach the volcano, the smoke from the lava lake is so thick, they cannot see what's right in front of them. After camping out in tents to rest, they strap into the containment suits and get ready to make their voyage to the scorching crater.
With the footage caught by the GoPro lenses, notice how the lava lake is insanely bright and yellow. Just to show you how close they got, one of the explorers stands near the edge, and then waves at the camera. It's so hot down there, the voyagers even show you how their camera melted due to the heat.
