According to former exotic dancer Jana Weckerly, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones sexually assaulted her sometime back in 2009 - and now, the NFL should do something about it.
According to the 27-year-old ex-stripper, the 71-year-old buisnessman inappropriately groped her in a luxury hotel bathroom back in May-June 2009. These photos leading-up to the alleged assault recently went viral on Twitter. The women featured in the racy snapshots are former Dallas strippers Lindzie and Jordan (not Jana):
These two females are also now consulting with lawyers.
Weckerly, an Oklahoma native, insists that during the altercation, Jones fondled and "forcibly rubbed" her butt and boobs without consent. In an 11-page court document, she's now suing the Cowboys for a whopping $1 million.
Jones also allegedly forced Weckerly to "touch and/or rub" his privates and then "forcibly penetrated" her with his fingers. Later on, she was compelled to watch another woman perform explicit sexual acts on the married NFL president.
The Daily Mail reports that the legal document states, "The conduct of defendant Jerry Jones was in violation of state and federal criminal statutes regarding sexual abuse." Jones' "extreme and outrageous conduct" intentionally caused "severe emotional distress." The NFL is also to blame for not supervising Jones properly and failing to introduce "policies for the protection of females." The Cowboys management ultimately "foster[ed] an environment and culture where abuse of females could flourish." Weckerly was in fear for her life considering the team and Jones both tried to "cover-up" the assault.
The document also revealed, "The reputation of Jerry Jones and Cowboys and the desire to avoid scandal were vastly superior and more important to the Cowboys than the welfare of the plaintiff and other victims who have been sexually abused by Jerry Jones."
Photos of the controversial harrassement were supposedly published online last month. Jones later told the Dallas Morning News in his defense:
"Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes. I'm just not going to comment on it."
But according to Weckerly's lawyer Thomas Bowers, she's still trying to cope with the trauma:
"If anybody did something wrong, it was the Cowboys and Jerry Jones," Bowers said in a statement. "Sometimes powerful people think they can get by with anything. It's amazing how athletes are held to a different standard than the owners, who are allowed to do things an athlete would probably lose his job for. So, it'll be very curious to see what the league does with this."
Football club spokesman Rich Dalrymple told 11alive.com that the case will be contested:
"These allegations are completely false. This is nothing more than an attempt to embarrass and extort Jerry Jones. This is a shakedown by a lawyer who is a solo practitioner just trying to make a name for himself. The alleged incidents would have been more than five years old. We intend to vigorously contest this complaint and expect it will be shown for what it is - a money grab. Due to the seriousness of these baseless allegations, we have also involved law enforcement."
Stay tuned as the story develops.
