It's a girl! Eva Amurri Martino's new daugther just increased the generation of females in her celebrity family. Eva, the daughter of actress Susan Sarandon gave birth to her first child, with NBC soccer analyst, Kyle Martino on Aug. 9, according to PEOPLE.
Little Marlowe Mae, made her debut into the world 11 days early, as her mother endured 36 hours of labor and delivery.
The site revealed that Sarandon was on the first flight to L.A. after she got the phone call from her daughter that she was in labor. "It was great to have her here," the actress, 29, said, who had not only her mother, but her husband by her side during her daughter's birth.
Martino's "marathon" homebirth at her California home was a "really, really, intense experience," she claims.
"I just felt so lucky to have the kind of delivery that I wanted and that there were no complications. At the time, I was like, 'Maybe I'm crazy' because it was so intense. I think everyone has that moment when they're in labor, but once she came out I felt like I could do it again in a second."
The new mom adds, "I expected it to be a very weepy moment and for me it was totally surreal."
Eva reveals that Marlowe Mae's first name is one that she "always loved" and her middle name is unique, because it is Eva's initials spelled backwards. The 29-year-old said that her daughter, "came out with her eyes wide open, holding her neck up and staring right at me," she continued, "I was mesmerized by that moment."
PEOPLE adds that Kyle, 33, was amazed by his wife. "I was like, 'This is all my fault!'" he joked during the interview. "Then it was the most amazing thing: My wife took on this incredible, strong, 'I'm going to do this' mentality and just rose to the occasion. It was the most attractive thing I had ever seen. It was an incredible surge of unexpected emotions."
Sarandon, the happy new grandmother added, "I have loved working, playing, and traveling with my daughter - but nothing prepared me for watching her birth Marlowe. She was a warrior and I'm so proud to be her mother and to be a part of that beautiful new child."
