You may not know this, but Will Ferrell – or Will "Pharrell" Ferrell as he calls himself these days – is an incredible video game enthusiast. And now he's giving his passion a purpose... all for charity.
The Anchorman star recently set up an Indiegogo campaign that aims to raise $375,000 for children and families who are suffering from cancer. All those who donate at least $10 will have the opportunity to win a free video game "session" with Ferrell himself. The comedic actor is calling the contest "Will Ferrell's SuperMegaBlastMax Gamer Challenge."
And best of all (as if playing video games with the former Saturday Night Live leading player isn't enough), it'll all be broadcast on iTunes!
And aside from getting the chance to party with the actor at a live event on Twitch TV, Ferrell states, "The grand prize winner receive airfare for two to San Francisco, a half-eaten bag of Skittles, and whatever other cool stuff we can scrape together."
Ferrell made his campaign known via a video on Funny or Die, which you can see below. But we should warn you ... it's pretty intimidating. You know, gamer-wise.
So, are you man enough to play against Ferrell? Remember, he did once play Asteroids for 37 hours straight without taking a bathroom break. But, of course, he did go to the bathroom.
If you're interested in donating, you can visit WillFerrellHatesCancer.org. So come on, join the other "extremely motivated, highly philanthropic and impossibly good looking" gamers in order to hang with Ferrell in "Rocktober" and beat cancer!
