OWN's New Show, Tyler Perry Drama 'If Loving You Is Wrong' Most Watched Show Premiere In Network History With 1.93 Million Viewers

Tyler Perry has to be one happy man. MStars News has learned that the series premiere of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's second drama series from the talented producer, If Loving You is Wrong, (September 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT) broke records delivering 1.93 million viewers making it the most watched series premiere in network history.

According to The Nielsen Company; Nielsen Social Guide (non-sports), the episode delivered a 1.47 rating in the key W25-54 demo up triple digits (+206%) vs. one year ago, and built every quarter hour among W25-54 climbing +13% over the course of the hour.  

The second episode at 10 p.m. delivered 1.92 million viewers and a 1.48 rating in W25-54, marking the second-highest W25-54 rating in the time period in OWN history. 

The second episode also delivered triple digit growth in the key W25-54 demo, up +185% vs. one year ago.   On the social media front, "If Loving You is Wrong" was trending on Twitter in the U.S.  Additionally, both episodes ranked in the top 5 most social programs on cable and in the top 10 on all of television.
