Talk about a hole-in-one! During the second round of the 2014 PGA Tour championship, Rory McIlroy's tee shot landed right into a golf fan's pocket.
At the 14th hole, the golfer gave an incredible swing, which you could hear loudly in the background. In the aggressive play, the golf ball flew up into the air, and as it came in for a landing, the ball suddenly cliped into the trees but continued downhill.
The crowd gathered around a spectator with a red shirt and glasses, who was laughing quietly to himself. The reason for the chuckles; he had McIlroy's golf ball inside his shorts pocket. According to the rules, the golf fan could not move from his spot because that is exactly where the white ball landed.
The 25-year-old golfer was amused by this extraordinary trick shot as he arrived to greet his fan. Upon meeting, the two shared a hearty laugh and shook hands. The crowd continued chuckling as an official marked the spot, so that the game could continue.
The spectator asked, "Can I keep it?"
The official responded, "He can give you another one, but he needs this one."
That would have been an awesome souvenir, don't you think? USA Today states that if Mcllroy wins this tour, the championship winner will take home the $10 million FedEx Cup prize.
