With the premiere of the CW series just a few weeks away, new set photos have surfaced from the upcoming The Flash series. When will actor John Wesley Shipp, who played the DC Comics superhero in the early '90s, meet with the new Barry Allen, now played by Grant Gustin?

We mentioned here, the Dawson's Creek actor was joining the cast in the recurring role as Henry Allen, Barry's father. Comic books fans remember Shipp as the first live-action version of the scarlet speedster. For the first time, two versions of the Flash will share the same screen time.

In the TV show, Henry Allen is framed for a murder he didn't commit. For years, he has been incarcerated for the death of his beloved wife. Footage from the pilot suggests the Reverse Flash is responsible for the heinous crime.

On his official Instagram, Gustin has shared some set photos, which also appear in the current issue of Entertainment Weekly. Not only will Barry meet with his father, Henry, but he will also do it in his superhero costume. In a nostalgic tribute, old school Flash will meet with new school Flash.

Gustin writes in the caption, "I love this one with John Wesley Shipp. What the whaa is happening here...?"

If you notice in the picture, the background states, "Keep Hands To Your Sides At All Times," which is usually displayed in jailhouses. Does this mean the Flash is planning a prison break for his innocent father? We will have to wait until the episode finally airs.

The issue of Entertainment Weekly, with the Flash on the cover, is out in stores now.

The Flash will premiere on the CW October 7. Readers, are you excited to see John Wesley Shipp in the same scene with Grant Gustin?
