The September 15, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana and will serve as the go-home show for Night of Champions this Sunday. The main attraction on the show is the return of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar for a confrontation with John Cena.
Last week, Paul Heyman tried to get Cena to turn to the dark side and, just once, unload on the fans who tell him how much he sucks. But Cena would not do it because, as he told Heyman, his mantra is "be John Cena, repeat." He loves being who he is and he has no desire to change whatsoever. But then, in a clever move, Cena forced Heyman to get Lesnar back on Raw tonight or else Cena would fight the advocate for The Beast Incarnate.
WWE reportedly has something major planned for the segment with Lesnar and Cena tonight, though this could be something as simple as adding a stipulation to their match on Sunday. Cena and Lesnar have not been in the same ring since SummerSlam, so how will Cena react once the Beast is in his face again? Will the 15-time champion be able to stand tall over Lesnar to build some momentum before Sunday's pay-per-view?
Roman Reigns will face his former friend and tag team partner Seth Rollins in a one-on-one match on Sunday. Last week, Rollins, Kane and Randy Orton demolished Reigns inside a steel cage, as they brutalized him with a chair and Rollins put the exclamation point on the beating with a Curb Stomp onto the steel. Will Reigns be able to get a measure of revenge tonight, or will The Authority's pack of dogs gang up on him yet again to soften him up some more?
WWE also added Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton to the Night of Champions card after The Viper attacked a wounded Y2J backstage last week and further damaged his injured knee. It would seem Jericho's business with Bray Wyatt has concluded, unless Bray decides to involve himself in the match on Sunday. Will Jericho try to return the favor to Orton tonight, or will he nurse his storyline injury and wait to get revenge on Sunday?
Brie Bella and Nikki Bella have been feuding for weeks now and have come to blows a few times, but the two have not actually had a match yet. It seems that won't happen for a bit, as Nikki will be involved in a Triple Threat match for the Divas Championship with Paige and AJ Lee at Night of Champions. Will the two sisters continue to brawl on tonight's Raw? Will Paige and/or AJ get involved at all? How will Brie factor into this Divas title match, if at all?
Dolph Ziggler and The Miz continue to feud over the Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler got the upper hand last week with some embarrassing photos of Miz and his stunt double, Damien Sandow. Will the challenger even the odds tonight, or will the champ continue to humiliate the self-proclaimed Hollywood star?
Other title matches on the Night of Champions card include Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the United States Championship and The Usos vs. Stardust and Goldust for the Tag Team Championships. Which sides will gain the advantage prior to Sunday's pay-per-view? Will Sheamus pay back Cesaro for his attack last Monday? Will The Usos even the score against the Dust Brothers, who have been viciously assaulting the champs for weeks?
