Michelle Obama sent out an email to her favorite designers to attend her "Celebration of Design" event at the White House on Oct. 8.
The email was supposed to be secretive, however, sending anything my email these days will sure enough be leaked to the media at some point or another. One thing that will not be leaked are the Social Security numbers each invitee must submit before attending the event!
And we thought background checks were so last season.
It seems as though the First Lady's social secretary will be busy checking the backgrounds of Executives from Jimmy Choo, Talbots and designer Maria Cornejo to name a few. Other invitees have yet to be confirmed.
The FLOTUS invitations were emailed late Friday, giving the designers time to think about checking a yes or no in the RSVP section. We can already invasion what box will be checked, yes!
Not since Jackie O has the American public seen a first lady parade around in such high fashion and be so open about her love of designer things.
"First and foremost, I wear what I love," Mrs. Obama told Vogue in February 2009. "That's what women have to focus on: what makes them happy and what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. If I can have any impact, I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion."
It may not be far off that the first lady will have young designers at her event as she supports young designers. "I try to be thoughtful about spreading the wealth: young designers. Mixing things up is important to me," Obama told a White House Roundtable in October 2011.
We assume which boxes will be checked, yes!
The "Celebration of Design" event comes during the Cooper-Hewitt Museum's National Design Week, which is running from Oct. 4- Oct. 12.
