Suspended Baltimore Orioles' player, Chris "Crush" Davis, was one of several people who lifted an overturned truck to help traffic accident victims. The ousted first basemen and a group of bystanders rescued a man who was trapped underneath a pickup truck.
According to ESPN, the infielder is currently serving a 25-game suspension. The sports athlete failed his drug test and resulted positive for amphetamine use. Maybe the baseball player was seeking to redeem himself, but for whatever reason, the suspended sports star was among the first people who attempted to help.
The good samaritan was on his way to the airport to pick up his friends, when a car accident occurred in the middle of the highway. A truck had flipped over and pinned down one of the passengers. Described by eyewitnesses, who didn't recognize the athlete without his uniform, Davis was the first one to get out of his car and help.
In an email to MASNSports.com, Mike Soukup, one of the samaritans who helped Davis, describes the incident, "The first man waved me over, and he, and I, and a woman started trying to lift the truck off of the pinned man. It was too heavy for the three of us - it was an old, large model pick-up and was very heavy."
As soon as the bystanders saw what they were, six other bystanders started helping. They were all able to pick the truck back up onto its wheels, successfully unpinning the injured man.
Chris Davis performs a tremendous good deed and helped out when accident victims needed it. Readers, what do you think of the inspirational story?
